EASTER DAY AT MOUNT ZION
Easter Sunday at Mount Zion started early, at 7:00 A.M. the volunteers arrived and started the traditional Easter Breakfast. The members of the congregation started to arrive shortly before the starting time of 8:00 A.M. and the meal was ready. Over the years Easter Breakfast has grown in popularity and this year was no exception. The bus had to make two runs as well as all those who were able to get to church on their own. The menu consisted of boiled eggs (coloured ), sausage, hot cross buns fruit salad and coffee and juice, which were very well received.
Good food and fellowship to start Easter Sunday
After the meal was over the Sunday school teachers held an Easter egg hunt for the children. This was very exciting for the young ones who were given first chance at finding the chocolate eggs. The older children were then given their turn to find the eggs that were a bit more difficult to see. The weather did not co-operate so the hunt had to take place inside which made for a good show for the adults as they had their coffee.

The Sunday Communion Service started at 10:00 A.M. with both adults and youth bringing the paraments back into the Church after Maundy Thursday and Good Friday. The procession started in the narthex and when the participants reached the front of the church a Deacon took their item and placed it in its place. When this was complete we continued with the service to celebrate the resurrection of our Lord.
